Running is life and brings us many benefits, but if we make it a routine it can be heavy and we run the risk of becoming unmotivated. All we need is a little push like best watches for runners. We are going to review some strategies that we can apply to prevent the monotony from reaching our running routine :
Running in a group: for me this is the most effective strategy. By having a group, reinforcement is greater and excuses are minimized. If, as a routine, we stay on certain days for an hour, as there are several in the group, it is always taken as something playful, fun, where nobody wants to miss or be left behind.
Vary the race circuit: it is not advisable to always go running in the same place. Varying the route distracts the mind and keeps it busy, it does not know what awaits it and the race becomes more enjoyable. My advice is that you have at least three or four routes to go running.
Listening to music or podcast: This is something that I use when I go out alone to run and play long runs. I like to alternate between a playlist or an interesting podcast about science or food.
Sign up for a race or challenge: another one of my favorites. When we have a challenge in mind, a greater commitment is created to go running constantly. If we know that in two months we are going to do the half marathon in our city, I assure you that few training sessions will be skipped. By nature we are competitive and knowing that we are going to measure ourselves to more athletes, will give us a kick of motivation to train daily.
Watch motivational videos: recommended for that day or that time when you don’t feel like going for a run. Watching videos of people overcoming great challenges, training, with motivating music, will make you get up from your chair and put on your shoes. We leave you with some videos, let’s hope you like them and give you that extra motivation so that you don’t miss your appointment with running.
